Mount World ML1 Samsung Ultra Slim Wall Mount WMN1000B Alternative for Samsung LED 40" 42" 46" 55"

I tried this mount out with my 55" Samsung LED LCD TV. I really wanted to use this slim mount as it was 2 to 3 time cheaper than the Samsung. The aluminum blocks that screw on the wall are of very good quality and simple design that mimics the Samsung version. The supplied wall plaster screw system, two large plastic inserts that fit into the plaster, for my taste are not strong enough to trust hanging your TV on. From my experience these types of plaster inserts do not grip the back of the plaster wall sufficiently to be considered sturdy. The Samsung kit supplies four Hilti plaster board bolt systems which are much more strong. Still I would at least place one of the two aluminum blocks with large wall screws (supplied) directly into an available 2x4" beam behind the plaster board.

The 1.5" bolts that fit into the wire part of the mount (two plastic disks joined by a 12" wire) were used with two 1/2" plastic spacers. This meant that 0.5" of bolt would screw into the TV. I noted that the bolt would not be able to fully screw into the TV as there was 0.3" of space for the bolt. You could use the shorter bolts but I wanted to use the 0.5" plastic spacers so the TV would have a slight downward tilt to it. I really did not want to tighten these bolts into a 0.9" thick Samsung TV and find out what could happen if they deformed anything as they tightened. I guess I could have added some larger washers to get the spacing right (none were supplied).

Finally the two plastic parts that fit onto the top of the TV had me worried. The wire part consists of two plastic disks strung together by a plastic coated wire. The black plastic appears to be regular ABS type plastic, hard and perhaps brittle. The wire is held in side the disks by a wire end crimps about 1/4" wide. This would direct all the weight of the TV on to these two crimps, one on either side of the wire and thus onto the inner side of the plastic disk. This is alot of force to apply continuously to a little area of plastic. For a 40" LED TV, I feel it would be okay with that degree of stress. For the 55" TV I hung on the wall, this potential for a crack had me worried. In the end do you really trust a little piece of Chinese plastic to hold your new TV? My examination of the identical mount from Samsung had me really appreciate the construction of the Samsung and worry about the quality of this knock off wall mount. In the end my 55" is hanging off a Samsung wall mount drilled into one 4x4" wood stud and one Hilti plaster board mount.

Just an hour ago by 1 month old Samsung 55" fell off the wall killing itself and just missing my kids. The TV is shot - the screen is cracked and its warped like a potato chip. The mount wire pulled out of the plastic block that attached to the TV. It all looked strong enough but it isn't. It only took 1 weak link. Don't trust your investment to this low quality option. I tried to save $250 and now I'm out $2500. The root cause is that they didn't strip the insulation off the cable before casting the nuggets on the end - it was only as strong as the plastic jacket on the wire.

UPDATE 8/3: The distributor (TV Mount World) supported me in making a claim for damages against the supplier of the defective unit. They made good on their error - very honorable. I am satisfied with the conclusion but will be using the genuine Samsung mount purchased at a reasonable price via Amazon.

Awful. Installed the mounting cable on a Samsung un55c8000. Good thing I tested it by holding the cable to lift the tv before hanging it on the wall. The plastic part gave way. It says it could carry 50 kgs on the box but my tv is less than 25 kgs. Inferior material used. Avoid this product to save your tv from getting damaged.

I bought the product because i couldn't beleive the price. Once i received it i mounted all the parts on the wall where they should be. I then proceeded to screw the plastic brackets and cable into the back of my new LCD as instructed. Whilst tightening the screws to my dissapontment one of the plastic brackets cracked and came appart. Just a word of advice don't tighten the plactic bracket too tight.

I mounted successfully my Samsung 40" LED tv with this kit. It might be a little less fancy than the OEM kit WMN 1000B but who cares? It's in the back of the tv and it $200,- cheaper.
It is definitely strong enough. The installation is straight forward. It took me less than an hour. Most of that time I spent measuring to have the optimum location for the TV.
I don't give it 5 stars because the drywall anchors are not as heavy duty as the ones supplied with the OEM kit. However considering the price difference, it's worth to pick up some heavy duty drywall anchors from the local hardware store.

We just used this wall mount for our Samsung 55" LED TV. As an alternative to the Samsung wall mount that was extremely high priced, we were very pleased with the quality of this product. Much easier and nicer then our standard wall mount that had been used in the past. Highly recommend.

This is a great alternative to the Samsung version, which costs 10x more! It was the easiest wall mount I have installed. It can mainly be done by one person, but a second person will be needed to help put the TV on the wall.

Things to think about:

-Buy better sheet-rock anchors. The ones that are provided are not very good.
-Install all cable management items to the TV before beginning the project. Once the TV is mounted, accessing the back of the TV is a bit difficult.
-For added safety, install the anchor that Samsung provides with its TV for added security.
-The TV will sit a couple inches lower than expected once the TV is mounted. The cable sags a bit, so a hard number is difficult to estimate.

A must have for anyone with a Samsung LED TV. End result is that of a picture frame on the wall. No gap between wall and TV.

Don't buy the Samsung version of this wall mount. The Samsung is way overpriced for what it is (it's priced to match the effect of what it does and not the cost of making this product). This wall mount works perfectly fine and is identical to the Samsung one.

Worked out well. Had my 46" Samsung LED TV for over a year. I am glad I waited to purchase this after-market wall hanging kit. Samsung brand hanging kit that should have been supplied with the TV in the first place, seemed overpriced. Why would someone buy an ultra-thin TV if they were only going to put it on that originally supplied stand? I did upgrade the hollow-wall anchor (instead of the one supplied) for one of the two mounting discs that did not align with wall stud: I used a "TOGGLER" brand Snaptoggle, 1/4" H.D. that is rated for 265 lbs in drywall. The TV is now mounted the way I originally intended. It saves counter space, looks better, and is more secure than on the original stand that has now been recycled.
