This review is from: Mountain 16200 3/8" Drive Torque Wrench - 20-200 In/lbs (Misc.)
I needed this wrench to change the timing belt on my car. Since I usually perform my own auto maintenance I decide that I should just invest in a decent tool. After throughly researching various other manufacturers I decided on the Mountain product due to its favorable reviews from Amazon and other sites.
The tool is well made and has a solid feel. Every visible part is metal (as opposed to plastic) and the torque graduations are permanently embossed on the tool. The letters are small (although it would be hard to make them any larger due to the size of the tool) and may be difficult for some people to read. It has a durable plastic case for storage and a paper conversion chart. I'm sure that a better product can be purchased but you can expect to spend from $60 to $100 for the same type tool.

Mislabeled,
This review is from: Mountain 16200 3/8" Drive Torque Wrench - 20-200 In/lbs (Misc.)
I agree with the previous reviewer who was having problems with the ratings on this wrench. The manual and conversions charts that come with this wrench all refer to ft/lb not in/lbs. I tried to torque a bolt at the lowest setting (20 in/lb), and the wrench never clicked. The bolt was near its stripping point, way past 20 in/lb.
Either the wrench I received is defective or the product is mislabeled.

Not commercial quality, but a good value nevertheless,

Good tactile feedback at low torque values, which is sometimes where cheaply made wrenches will fail. I can't imagine a better torque wrench for the money. This is a good value for the occasional user.

This torque wrench turned out to be just what I needed to change the sparkplugs on my aging Saturn. Much better than the beam type wrench I ordered first. I was wary about ordering this one as some previous reviewers said they received wrenches measuring ft/lbs instead of in/lbs. I was pleased that the wrench I received was 20-200 in/lbs as advertised. I noted, however, that the instruction sheet included referred to ft/lbs, I assume for a different model. Perhaps Mountain has problems putting their products in the appropriate packaging. (alliteration intended)
If you do receive the wrong product, Amazon has an excellent return service; just hold on to the box it came in. I know this from experience (re the aforementioned beam torque wrench).

Beware: It appears this product is currently mis-labeled. Other Mountain torque wrenches are calibrated in ft-lbs, not in-lbs (e.g. Mountain 16150 is 150 ft-lbs, Mountain 16250 is 250 ft-lbs, etc.) If you set the Mountain 16200 to 200 thinking that's 200 in-lbs, you'll be applying 12x too much torque and probably strip your fastener.

I bought this wrench to do my own motorcycle maintenance. After doing my 36k mile service using this wrench, I'm fairly pleased. The wrench feels solidly built, is easy to adjust, and has a distinct click when the set torque has been applied. I can't say anything about its longevity yet, but so far, so good.

To the folks suggesting this wrench was mis labeled, learn how to use a product before scaring off potential buyers. This torque wrench is labeled as 20-200 inch pounds and that is precisely what it is (I even compared it with other torque wrenches). It's limits were tested by a real person who included the hand written documentation in the box. This is a good quality tool at a great price. I use this for bicycle repair so it has to be close or it will strip or break the smaller bolts used on modern bikes. I have no complaints and neither will you. Hope this helps.

I was worried as other had received the wrong item. But upon receiving my package it was exactly what I order. Buyers do not worry. You will receive the INCH Pounds torque wrench if you buy the model 16200. Also the wrench works flawlessly. A super great buy for the money.

This is a well engineered and crafted product. I have also purchased a larger Torque Wrench for larger tasks. I will purchase more of this companys' products in the future and I would not hesitate to recommend this companys' products to other craftsman and friends.
