About the Author

Bob D'Antonio was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia. A well-known rock climber with over 700 first ascents throughout the United States and a mountain biker since 1982, he is the author of three rock climbing guides and three other mountain bike guides for different areas in Colorado. He spends his life living between Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Louisville, Colorado.

Overall the book is well done. It provides directions to each location, some history, parking information, and a good overview. The trail description is broken down by landmarks and it describes the terrain that will be encountered during the ride. For each trail, there is a chart showing elevation change and this really gives you a sense of how challenging or easy rides are going to be. A map of each trail is also included. There is also a good mix of easy, moderate, and challenging (technical) trails.

My only negative comment about the book is the nice trails in the Philadelphia area that were not included: Green Lane (Red trail), Core Creek Park, Mercer County Park, Clayton Park, and Idlewood. Maybe some of these will be included in the next edition?
