This review is from: Mountain Biking the Greater Philadelphia Area, 2nd: A Guide to the Delaware Valley's Greatest Off-Road Bicycle Rides (Regional Mountain Biking Series) (Paperback)
Overall the book is well done. It provides directions to each location, some history, parking information, and a good overview. The trail description is broken down by landmarks and it describes the terrain that will be encountered during the ride. For each trail, there is a chart showing elevation change and this really gives you a sense of how challenging or easy rides are going to be. A map of each trail is also included. There is also a good mix of easy, moderate, and challenging (technical) trails.
My only negative comment about the book is the nice trails in the Philadelphia area that were not included: Green Lane (Red trail), Core Creek Park, Mercer County Park, Clayton Park, and Idlewood. Maybe some of these will be included in the next edition? |
