This is a great guide to trails in the Santa Monica Mountains. It is clear, comprehensive, and even several years after it was written, it's still up-to-date. If you mountain bike in the Santa Monica mountains, this is the guide to get. It covers all the trails and also the various sensitive political situation that exist in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Also covers area history and has good info on safe outings as well.
