Mountain Gorgonzola is a blue cow's milk cheese from the Lombardy region of Italy. There are two varieties of Italian Gorgonzola, the young Gorgonzola Dolce, and this more aged option. Mountain Gorgonzola is tangy and firm with pronounceen melted down, Mountain Gorgonzola makes an interesting fondue for a true blue lover. If you are looking to add some unexpected elements to a cheese platter, Mountain Gorgonzola is a wonderful choice. Not only is it a bold cheese, but it pairs well with some unexpected ingredients. The classics like pears and nuts work, but peaches and raisins also mingle well with the flavor of Gorgonzola. If you are looking for a wine pairing, try champagne or a full bodied red wine.
