DISCLAIMER:Maybe its because I got lucky in the way they make this jacket because the XL size fits my 200 lb frame exactly, neatly tapered style. So the great fit makes for a great match for me.

This is a well designed jacket because its so versatile for all season and weather. If I had to say one thing about this jacket, other than its fit and good looks, it would be its value-to-weight ratio. It is made to be very compact and light so that it can be stuffed into a computer bag, travel bag or backpack and take up very very little room and weight. And thats why I love it. For most purposes its going to keep you dry. Its great for just casual wear too.

Runners

For me, the worst conditions it works hard in is winter running with wind and snow blowing hard up in the North East. I have a training program so I seldom miss runs. I run in weather down to 20F with a three layer system. The two inner layers (underarmour compression + north face thermal) keep me warm and the TJ keeps me dry. If you didn't know it, it has the premium Windstopper Gortex fabric. This stops most wind and rain - it won't keep you warm but will keep you dry and reduces the wind effects. It does have limits on water resistance/proofing because it is a soft gortex shell versus the real waterproof hard shell gortex. While it has no hand pockets, it does have a small pocket at the back to hold a small wallet while you run. The hood is a great feature that alot of other light jackets don't have. It is well designed to hug you head when zipped up - having no draw strings reduces the weight!

Travel
------
I fit this into a Eagle square travel bag and put it into my luggage. Because of its versatility, I can take this out if I am cold on a winter airplane flight and it is always good enough to hold in that little extra body heat to keep me warm. If its raining out I can put it on over my shirt and keep dry. At night time I can wear it out to a casual restaurant or use it for my runs if its cool or raining.

Bottom line: If your thinking of a running jacket or just coat for all most weather conditions, just buy it. Just make sure you take it off once in a while and wash it.
