Turned out to be one of the best purchases I ever made.

The zippers can be unzipped from the bottom which is nice if you want to play footsie with your tent mate but do not want your whole body to be out of the bag.
Sean
The bag is very light and definitely suitable for backpacking.

Have the 2012 model of this bag which is green with a black hood and I love it. Bought it on a whim because I found a dirt cheap sale price. Turned out to be one of the best purchases I ever made.

Warmth/comfort is kind of subjective. Great deal of variation in how bodies regulate heat from one person to the next. That said, I have taken it down to the freezing mark and it kept me warm. This was also sleeping on 2 pads with a combined R value of 7. I mention this because often people blame sleeping bags for lack of performance when in truth it's the lack of insulation between them and the ground. I've also used this bag on much warmer nights into the 60's and didn't sweat. Covers a wide temp range for me. I do have winter bags, but intend to try this with a liner next year for hunting season and see how far it will take me.

The 2012 model has a really cool zipper set up IMO. There's a full length zipper down the left side and 1/3 length zipper down the right. Both zippers have multiple pull tabs. What this does is allow you to be fully enclosed in the bag and configure arm holes with the zippers, or vents if you choose. I like being able to read or tinker while zipped up in the bag so that's a big plus for me. Unfortunately, Mountain Hardware has dropped this feature on the 2013 model. Still a great bag though. The zippers themselves are pretty robust. I have had a couple snags, but so has every other sleeping bag I've owned. They were fairly easy to get undone on this bag.

Mine doesn't have a draft collar. It's a very simple design, but that translates to ease of use. I haven't noticed any heat loss due to the lack of a draft collar. The hood design is good. Not overly huge. The draw cord works well.

I have not used this bag yet as it has arrived today. i can tell that it will be quite comfortable having just tried it on my terrace. The temperature outside is just under 50 degrees and i was very warm, very fast. This is not a true test of the bag, but it does seem to hold in the heat.

I also have a Marmot Cloudbreak 30, and it did not perform as well in a similar test. I guess the extra 15 degree comfort limit makes the difference.

I like the extra 1/2 length zipper on the right side, although I probably won't be utilizing this as sleeping bags, to me, are for sleeping. The hood is very lofty and the drawstrings work great. The bag is very light and definitely suitable for backpacking.

This bag received 4 stars because the compression sack that came with the bag is useless. It will not hold this bag without stuffing it so tight that I fear the synthetic filler will become damaged. I don't even know why they included it. I will have to buy a new compression sack.

I will update the review after its first use.

UPDATE -
I have used this bag on numerous occasions in upstate NY. The lowest temperature i have experienced was 10 degrees. The bag was warm while using a liner. My toes were cold, but perhaps I did not have the right socks and there was about 4 inches of snow that night. In temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees, i was perfectly comfortable.

The zipper pulls did snag a little more than I would like, but overall, not an issue.

I do believe that I tested this bags limits and it did well for me.

I had bought a compression sack from REI, and the bag compresses down pretty small to fit in my backpack.

The zippers on both sides are awesome, there is a small stash pocket in the bag to keep left over food or chap stick or string cheese or anything small you may need at 3am. The zippers can be unzipped from the bottom which is nice if you want to play footsie with your tent mate but do not want your whole body to be out of the bag. Most comfortable synthetic bag I have owned!

Kept me warm down to 20 degrees and I stayed warm even after the bag got wet. I was happy with the purchase and would recommend this bag to those who want a lighter weight bag and there is a chance that the bag might get wet.
