I purcahsed this jacket for my daughter for Christmas. She has some Columbia jackets with the inserts and says they are just too bulky. She was looking for something warm that was not bulky and this jacket fit the bill. She says it is very warm and comfortable but we are from chicago and the temps have been pretty brutal lately. You might still want to have some extra layers when the temps get extreme but the nice thing about this coat is it is not one of those fashion statement coats it is more of a practical coat that will work with extra layers. I would definitely recommend this coat to anyone looking for comfortable lightweight warmth from a jacket.
