5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Enjoyable! February 1, 2014
By Nina
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I got Mountain Hero as a freebie, but I would have gladly paid for it; it was that good!

With novellas, there are usually several things I worry about: lack of character and plot development along with the pacing of the story. Yet, rest assured that Mountain Hero does not lack in any of those department and the pacing was just perfect. Cheryl Yeko weaved a wonderful and COMPLETE story in just a little over 100 pages. I mean that's something hard to do, but she executed this story beautifully.

The characters, Jason and Michelle, were engaging and likeable. I surely wouldn't mind getting stranded in a snow storm with Jason and sharing all that body heat ;)

Overall, Mountain Hero was a highly enjoyable read. It had great writing, loveable characters, nice sexual tension and the story flowed effortlessly. I also enjoyed the bits of suspense thrown in as well. This story is a definite winner in my book. Can't wait to read more from Cheryl Yeko. She has gotten herself a new fan and reader!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Short Whirlwind Romance March 24, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Mountain Hero is a story ( I hesitate to call it a novel. Perhaps a novella?) by Cheryl Yeko, the audiobook narrated by Alan Taylor. Taylor narrates the story of Michelle, a young woman who has run away from her wedding after finding her fiance cheating on her with her best friend. Better make that ex best friend. In her state of anger, she decides to head to a mountain cabin. In the middle of a snowstorm. Not the best idea, but she’s angry and hurt, so we’ll let it slide.

Jason, a firefighter on his way home from work, sees an abandoned car on the road, and soon discovers Michelle in a dangerous situation. It then becomes his job to save her and make sure that they both make it through this snow storm alive.

I liked Michelle as a protagonist for the most part. She’s pretty feisty, which is nice. Jason does ultimately have to save her, but she at least makes an attempt to put up a fight, so she’s not a completely useless damsel in distress type character. I do feel bad about the whole cheating fiance situation, but it’s hard to feel bad for her when she doesn’t seem that upset about it herself. Like, she drives through a snowstorm in an angry haze, but she doesn’t really seem to care that much about it. I pitied the fact that she has a super protective older brother more than I pitied the fact that she had been cheated on, because that honestly seemed to bother her more.

Things that bothered me about Michelle: I understand that you have just been cheated on, and that you have now been rescued by a super-hot firefighter (who wouldn’t want to be rescued by a sexy firefighter?) but for crying out loud there are more important things going on right now than getting into his pants. Like, trying to survive out in the middle of a snowstorm with your soaking wet clothes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Suspenseful and Steamy September 15, 2013
By Sonia
Format:Kindle Edition
I just finished Cheryl Yeko's most recent book Mountain Hero and I couldn't put it down. I couldn't believe it when I came to the end because I wanted more from Michele and Jason. Two lost souls finding each other in a time in their life that they needed each other. The suspense of Michele being manhandled by thugs kept me turning the pages. Michele's brother added flavor to the story. Who wouldn't want a brother thinking no guy was good enough for his sister? Great, fun, exciting book. Keep writing them Cheryl so we can keep reading them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Mountain Hero!!! September 14, 2013
By Elaine
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Title of my review says it all. The book captures your mind within the first chapter. It keeps going until the end. Hot, steamy, sexy, romantic, and spell bounding book. Reference to "fire engine red panties" gets your mind reeling for sure! You won't be disappointed at all with the book; read the others that are out too. Very good reading over all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Read From Cheryl Yeko September 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This book grabbed my attention immediately and held my interest to the very end; and the end came way too soon. As Cheryl's books always are, this was very well written and made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. Love your books Cheryl and can't wait for the next one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Predictable February 12, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was unable to finish reading this....boring and predictable. The characters were in love within a couple hours of meeting. Unrealistic premise, and no opportunity to really connect with the characters. I would definitely pass on this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hero Men! September 17, 2014
By Susan
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Simple and quick short story; starts out with Michelle being stupid and impulsive. Jason comes along and helps her out of a bad situation. Michelle's brother, Zack, has a security company and is very protective of his sister. The male characters are very strong, alpha men, likable and yummy! Michelle grows on you! I wish the story was longer and more complex.

2.0 out of 5 stars More substance -
The story was shallow. Need more of a story line and less on the romance/sex. Women have brains and like to use em. Give a story to wrap my thoghts around.
