This review is from: Mountain High, Mountain Rescue (Hardcover)
I never met Peggy Parr, but I did meet an El Paso County Search and Rescue (SAR) person who knew her. He respected her, as I'm sure her other team members did. She and I entered the SAR world late in life, she at age 59 in Colorado and I at age 60 in New Mexico. We both gained the greatest respect for our fellow team members and we both wrote books about our experiences. Peggy's book accurately relates the types of situations SAR members find themselves in on their missions. I enjoyed her event descriptions and especially recommend this book to people interested in the enormously satifying world of wilderness Search and Rescue. Her story also shows that age itself is not a barrier to those who want to help their fellow human beings who get into trouble in the wilderness. To such individuals, the SAR motto, "That Others May Live," is more than just words.
