At Rearguard camp, you can hear the glaciers of Mount Robson calving into Berg Lake during the night. But before you bed down, treat yourself to the Mountain House Lasagna with Meat Sauce. We saved this one for celebrating our arrival. Though the June wind was swift and bitter, this meal warmed to the core. This dinner merited another five from us--meaning that we would reach for it at home if the power went down. Delicious! But *dang*, where is that side of garlic toast?!

Before going on a backpacking trip I opted to try the Mountain House Lasagna with meat sauce against the Backpackers Pantry version of Lasagna with meat sauce. Of the two my preference would be Mountain House. I felt the product turned out well and overall took less time to prepare than the Backpackers Pantry. The flavor is good, its not overly seasoned,just a basic tomato sauce and pasta. Some reviews complained about the cheese sticking to the fork, however I did not experience this problem, but I was also using a plastic disposable fork.

No matter if you are backpacking, boating, camping or just putting food away for an emergency, these are a tasty meal! I was a little skeptical about freeze dried foods until I tried them! Order one and you will be back for more (if you can find any) - there seems to be a shortage at the moment not surprising given the conditions in the world today.
