I bought these becase I have worn out older pairs of these shorts. While these new ones are the same cut, the older ones had better material. The older material was more of a canvas, where these new ones seem lighter. The difference is subtle, but noticable.

Mountain Khakis manufacture high quality products, and these shorts are no exception. They fit well although the sizing runs a bit small, and they wash & wear well, with some ironing, if desired. This company started as a small vendor in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, focusing on sportswear, and has greatly expanded over the years due to their stylish and durable clothes which has created a well-deserved loyal customer base. Their clothing is comparable in quality, style and price to the Patagonia brand.

I found and purchased these shorts for my husband here on Amazon at a great discount; if you purchase directly from MK and one of their retailers, you will pay much more. For the price of one pair of shorts elsewhere, I purchased two here.

I would like to say that MK clothes are all USA-Made but unfortunately, I cannot. The label states "Made in China." Why a small company like MK would outsource its production to China is surprising, and quite disappointing. For that reason, I've deducted one star. Maybe, like Patagonia has done in the past, MK will come forward and explain what percentage of its production and materials are outsourced, and if it has future plans for returning any or all of that to the USA, rather than being completely quiet (on its website) regarding this important and relevant issue.

When
36 is falling off with webbed belt
34 is uncomfortably tight
A true size 35 is just right
Good solid cloth, well constructed - i expect these to be a wardrobe staple and last for years
Double front right pocket takes getting accustomed to

I love mountain khakis. I have three pairs of Teton pants and a jacket by them. The problem with the shorts is the sizing. I wear a 35 waste in their pants and they fit perfectly. I ordered the same in the shorts and it was absolutely no where close. It was at most a 32. It reminded me of when I had gained 50 extra pounds and tried putting on my old pants. This is the second pair I've tried from them thinking the first might be a mislabeling or a factory mistake, but I guess not. Their quality looks fantastic like usual, but I will be ordering a 38 (which also reminds me of when I gained 50 extra pounds) for my replacement pair.

I already have and like several Mountain Khakis Teton twill shorts. These particular ones do not fit the same and do not fit as well. There is something about them that is not quite right__ perhaps a subtle weight difference. The fit is definitely different than all the ones I bought previously. These are "cheaper" in fit and details. The interior label is not the dark grey that the others have. I wonder whether they are counterfeit? Has MK sourced the manufacturing to a new place?
I'll NOT order any from this source again.

Stop looking - these are the best shorts ever! I have three pairs of these and they're all "my favorite shorts". I wear them constantly. I am absolutely positively a fan of Mountain Khaki shorts and pants. The material is high quality and with triple stitching, these are made to last. I highly recommend. At full retail, I know they can be a little on the pricey side, but if you look here on Amazon or even elsewhere, you can get great sale prices and what seems to be end of year overstock stuff for 20-30% off retail.

This is the third pair of Mountain Khakis for me. I found the material lighter in guality and the size generous. Although I have worn 36 waist for years, the waist was a little large and the general fit blousy and not to my liking. I would not mail order another pair but I have found them hard o find in stores.

Great shorts. Very comfortable. Full cut. Could have stood to maybe have a slimmer cut, but these are fine nonetheless. Fantastic pricing on this item.

These shorts are great. Not too thick, not to thin on the material. I found the inseam to be just right for my preferences. The color is a little darker than the picture, maybe after a few washes they will lighten up. My only gripe (that was quickly fixed) was that on the right side there are two full size hand pockets...? Why they thought this would be good, I don't know. But a quick sew job and there is no longer pocket-confusion. Maybe would have liked an alternative pocket down the leg, but oh well. I find my wallet is sometimes hard to get out of the back pockets, but all of these issues are minor. I like that I know where these shorts are made, and am willing to pay a bit more.
