5.0 out of 5 stars Good Live Show
As a person who grew up at the Fillmore West(1967-1970)five nights a week, listening to all the best bands ever. I saw Mountain twice live and this is a must have if you are a Mountain fan. Of course, no Felix, but Mark Clarke does a great job as a replacement. Whoever said that this dvd sounded hollow, must not have had the correct equipment to play it through, because I...

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice to have but a bit frustrating in performance and content
Bassist Marke Clarke is really the only one who is playing up to expectations here. This is a short set and Leslie is a bit lazy on the vocals. It's nice to have the footage as it existed in only bootleg form prior. The image quality isn't that great maybe a 7 out of 10 and the sound is just "ok". There are no bonus features. This is one of those releases whereby just...

Of course, no Felix, but Mark Clarke does a great job as a replacement. Whoever said that this dvd sounded hollow, must not have had the correct equipment to play it through, because I just finished watching it and I thought the sound was very good and not hollow at all. Remember, this is a 3 piece band and as good a show as I have ever seen Mountain do. I recommend this to all Mountain fans !!

I've seen Mountain several times live, including during their peak with the late great Felix Pappalardi. This DVD magnificently captures the unbelievable raw intensity of Mountain live. I was transfixed and hypnotized by the savage, brutal interaction between Leslie West and Corky Laing. The bass player, Mark Clarke, is outstanding, with a fantastic voice reminiscent of Jack Bruce's. Corky's drumming is as powerful and dynamic as ever. Leslie's voice sounds aggressive, yet perfectly controlled. His guitar playing is heavy and melodic, and sounds exactly as it did in Mountain's heyday. The sound is intentionally distorted, as it SHOULD be...that's exactly what Mountain sounds like live. I LOVED the intense, furocious sound. Crank this baby up and ENJOY! It's one of the most exiting music DVD's ever. Highly recommended!

Set List:

Why Dontcha
Never In My Life
Theme From An Imaginary Western
Spark
Nantucket Sleighride
Mississippi Queen

This is one of those releases whereby just having it available brings some enjoyment. If you are a Leslie completest then it's a sure bet to buy it. Otherwise the official Mountain DVD may be better. (Although that bassist is no where near the caliber of Marke Clarke)

This is a must for all diehard fans of Mountain.Leslie West is a fantastic guitar player. However this DVD the Audio and stage lighting is a bit substandard. Also without a keyboard player the overall sound very hollow.Of course this not the original band,Felix Pappalardi the bassist who sang the mountain classic Nantucket Sleighride has passed away.
Leslie West voice is more suitable for heavy vocals like Misisippi Queen.

Only recommended for hardcore mountain fans

This isn't very well shot, and I don't think this is a very "Together" concert. I think Leslie was having "Problems" during this period. I've seen Mountain a few times in the past couple of years, and they have it WAY more together. The "Live in Texas", and "Sea of fire" DVDs are much better.

I've been a big Mountain fan since Leslie West's first solo Album in 1970. Great Music and Sound on this DVD, but Leslie and Corky seem to have some issues with one another here.
Still, one of My favorite Guitarist. Loud and Proud, the way I like it.. I just wish there was more Video from the early 70's.
