5.0 out of 5 stars Get Your Bike In Shape!, March 31, 2000
This review is from: Mountain Bike Performance Handbook (Bicycle Books) (Paperback)
Riding the rough terrain can put your mountain bike out of commission fast, especially without optimal adjustments for off-road activity. That's why Zinn's Handbook is seen on so many bicycling and ATB enthusiasts' shelves.

The Handbook provides clear, easy to understand directions covering everything from grips to shocks, and it has plenty of helpful illustrations.

If you are like most extreme mountain bicyclists and want maximum performance and enjoyment from your experience, this Handbook will prove to be an invaluable resource and starting point.

4.0 out of 5 stars Poor-quality edition, July 7, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Mountain Bike Performance Handbook (Bicycle Books) (Paperback)
I have no complaints with the content of the book and would give it five stars for that alone, but the poor quality of the printing and binding is astonishing.

The point size of the characters is small, the ink incomprehensibly faint, and the text is packed far too close to the right and left margins to allow for comfortable reading since cracking the spine of the book to make it possible to read the text near the inside margins causes pages to fall out after only a few days of reading.

This is a terrible printing of a good book. I will probably tear out all the pages, punch holes in them and put them together with twine to make a somewhat more readable edition.

Zinn's other books have been printed in good paperback editions which are highly readable both in research (on your back) and active (spread out while working on your bike) mode. It would be welcome to see a similar quality edition of this book to appear.
