Roland Green has put together a fine example of early military sci-fi. It's not exactly a page turner, but the characters have some depth and I felt some interest in what happened to them. Even though the book is nearly 20 years old, I didn't see any blatant historical artifacts intruding. Overall, a pleasant read.
