4.0 out of 5 stars Great album, wrong band name., November 12, 2006
This review is from: Mourning Has Broken (Audio CD)
When I first heard this I was really disappointed that Martin had left and that him and Andy could not come to an aggreement on how the band should move forward because they had something unique and quite a cult following. Everything of the once great Sabbat is gone which is why they should have just changed the band name and started anew with this release. After a few listens and accepting the fate of the band I put that aside and grew to love this album. In no way do I think of this as an Sabbat album but something in it's own and I love this album. The music paints pictures of a grim, post apocalyptic future and Ritchie Desmond's voice is to die for! Why I have never heard of him in anything else after this is beyond me. His vocals are that of a siren's that will draw you in and hold you, wanting more and more, leaving you in a withdrawl state. The music is as intricate as ever, thanks to Mr. Sneap and the songs are all so memorable and distinct from each other. This by no means is a true Sabbat album but let's seperate this from the classic other two and treat this as a whole new entity, and as a metal fan embrace this album on it's own and enjoy it. I certainly did. Thanks, all of Sabbat, for always making awesome music!

1.0 out of 5 stars Why even bother, September 7, 2005
This review is from: Mourning Has Broken (Audio CD)
I'm suprised this once great band released this knowing that their backbone was gone. Martin Walkyier was Sabbat and was Skyclad, Sabbat failed with this release just like Skyclad failed when he left. Anything Martin will do from now on musically and especially lyrically will blow both bands now without him out of the water.
