Book Description

July 27, 2005 4 and upP and up

This new book from the author and illustrator of the runaway hits Come Worship with Me and A Children's Guide to Worship will charm fans of those books as well as those discovering these adorable mice for the first time. In these endearing stories, set in the fictional town of Hillsborough and its church, the Church of the Least of These, the characters, all church mice, live, work, and play together. In the process these mice live out theological themes and demonstrate hope in their daily lives and actions. These stories, which take place during the Christmas season, show the community--and especially six memorable children in one Sunday school class--learning how to care for one another, welcome outsiders, disagree in love, forgive, and love as Christ loves. They reflect a community living out its faith by choosing to hope. This beautifully illustrated book can be read to or by children.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good "church book", January 19, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mouse Tales--Things Hoped For: Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany (Hardcover)
This book has a two part message. The main characters are (mouse) children. Some have more knowledge about church and faith.

The discussions they have bring forth this knowledge. The characters are also living in a real word where they are called to act on their faith.

The adults in the story lines are sometimes helpful and sometimes not so much. A good book to share with children in 2nd thru 6th grade.
