From School Library Journal
Grade 2-4-This poetry collection includes three selections written for two voices; requisite laments about school food and that obnoxiously smart kid; and cheery views of a noisy bus ride, a disastrous but fun class trip, lining up in the hall, schoolwork, teachers, and like topics. Fernandes surrounds the verses with smiling-or, sometimes, grossed-out looking-children amid various brightly colored messes. The book's upbeat tone makes this a potentially appealing addition to a popular poetic genre, though undisciplined metrics and an occasional tendency to add words just to fill out a line give the writing an inconsistent quality.John Peters, New York Public Library
