From School Library Journal
PreSchool-- Although the premise of these British imports is good, they fall short of their potential. Each follows its subject from birth through 12 and 8 weeks, respectively. Clear photographs--closeup and full body of the animals in action and at rest--are just what preschoolers need. However, the images stand on the pages sans background or any other objects with which to compare them for size. Mouse shows the creatures in a nest; there's no indication of how or where sheep live. The brief texts are written in the first-person voice, speaking of brothers and sisters and other anthropomorphisms. Pages and format are sturdy, photographs are focused and appealing, but the books present incomplete information. --Virginia Opocensky, formerly at Lincoln City Libraries, NE
