5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful tales for children..., August 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
When you think about it most tales, myths, and legends, are meant to teach us something. The stories about Mouse woman were meant to teach the children of the Northwest proper behavior. It was meant to teach them how to treat nature, respect the spirits, and to obey their parents. The stories, not only teach and warn, but also bring some humor into the harsh landscape of the frozen and dangerous Northwest.

If you enjoyed this book I would also suggest getting the others in the series - Mouse Woman and the Vanished Princesses and Mouse Woman and the Mischief Makers. Also, I would suggest any copy of The Raven Steals the Light by Bill Reid and Robert Bringhurst, and Shamans and Kushtakas: North Coast Tales of the Supernatural by Mary Giraudo Beck.
