4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, catchy tunes. This gets good rotation in my collection
If you only buy one acapella CD, get Rockapella 'Don't tell me you do'. If you get two, buy this one as well! I also have The Blenders Christmas album, 'Nog', and that's pretty good as well. This is a fine group, and they do a good job of filling my need for an acapella fix. If Take 5 is not quite your style, and you like most of The Nylons, you might really like The...

3.0 out of 5 stars so so
This one is ok, but nothing to write home about. My first experience with the Blenders is when then sing old classic christmas songs, I really like those, but this one had a mix of fast & slow and familiar tunes and not so familiar. I just couldn't get into it. But maybe you can.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still one of the best ever!, July 18, 1999

This album is a must-have for any collection. The Blenders are smooth, sexy, and fun, and their tunes range from the ridiculous to the painfully honest. "You" and "Plainotfancy" are some of the catchiest original songs ever, and the country version of "Don't Worry, Be Happy" is side-splitting! The singing is flawless, and the arrangements are always interesting. If you're an a cappella fan, this album is essential, and if you have yet to discover the joy, this is a good place to start.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as Good as the First, but Still Fun, April 16, 2002

The Blenders tried to have a lot of fun with this CD, but personally, I think they pushed a little too hard. Oxapello was a great way to start the CD, but when you throw in Jeannine's Anthem and Interlude, it just starts to get too silly and random.

But the CD is still pretty darn good! Their cover of Don't Worry, Be Happy is priceless, and Sailing makes you sail away just listening to it. Their originals aren't quite as good as in their first CD, but Summer Sounds brings me straight out to a country summer, and Gray Matters is perhaps the only song I've ever heard to be based on nothing more than a color. You gotta' give 'em style points for that.

I saw this group twice,at Elmira College (Elmira, NY). I heard most of these songs in concert. The have a great stage show and a terrific sense of humor that comes accross on some of these tracks. The quality of this group is A+. you won't regret adding this to your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST in acapella rock, May 23, 2000

This album showcases the blenders' capabilities as song writers and musicians. I'm a fan of the rockacapella genre as a whole, but the Blenders stand out as a shining star. Their name fits them, because their blend is impeccable , not to mention intoxicating. You'll love their sense of humor and their overall sound. You deserve for this album to be a part of your cd library!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing studio A Cappella originals., June 12, 1998

This review is from: From the Mouth (Audio CD)
The Blenders show how much you can do with four talented singers and lots of studio expertise in their stunning Sophmore effort. The album comes with an A Cappella Advisory "warning" that no instruments are used, but they aren't necessary. The songs show a great combination of musicality, humor, and originality and make you know that these guys are having a good time too. From the irrevernt lyrics of Aunt Sue's Ant Soup to the huge crescendo of harmony in Tasty Tasty Tasty these guys show their mettle with 11 of the tracks originals you'll be humming to yourself for days.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great guys, great music!, December 1, 2009
This review is from: From the Mouth (Audio CD)
I grew up running around the neighborhood with two of these guys, and I'm pretty impressed with what they've done. They have a great sound and their music is both relaxing and fun, I love it.

A few years ago, my son was really into their music, but was home ill when they made an appearance at his school - they sent him and autographed photo and CD, since he didn't get to see them in person. Class act!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding A Cappella, February 23, 2008
This review is from: From the Mouth (Audio CD)
"From The Mouth" is an outstanding collection of witty, snarky, and sentimenal tunes from The Blenders, a vocal harmony group originally from Fargo, ND. No a cappella collection is complete without it.
