Departing slightly from the minimalist design it's cultivated over the years, Movado's Series 800 combines an eye-catching luxury watch with the practicalities of a sports watch without wholly sacrificing the spare modernism that is its trademark. This mid-sized Movado Series 800 stainless steel, Swiss quartz watch is a great match for both men and women, and it features the signature large, luminous Movado dot at 12 o'clock, which has become symbolic of Movado watches and pays homage to the famed Museum Series timepieces.

The mid-sized, round watch case is topped by a perfectly circular unidirectional rotating bezel with a silver ring and elapsed time markings in an austere, Helvetica-like font at the 10 minute marks. The outer black ring of the bezel includes scalloped indentations for an easy grip even under sweaty conditions. The case is made from performance steel, a higher grade of stainless steel that provides excellent durability and strength. Additionally, the low nickel content in this surgical steel quality offers improved hypoallergenicity.

Befitting its more sporty orientation, the wavy black dial is complemented by luminous bar hour markers, small minute indexes, and a date window at 3 o'clock. It also features oversized luminous hands and a red seconds hand with a luminous dot at its base. This precisely timed watch has a Swiss-made quartz movement, which is accurate to 60 seconds per year.

Other features include a sapphire glass crystal for optimal scratch resistance, screw down crown for maximum protection, and water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet)--which will stand up to the rigors of recreational scuba diving. It's completed by a black Thermoresin strap, which offers built-in UV protection and includes a fold over safety bar at the clasp for added security while participating in active pursuits.

Actually it is the best price I've come across for the 800 Series from the larger and more trustworthy stores. I've seen it at one other store for $440.00, but I like knowing Amazon stands behind their sales. It's a casual watch that can be worn with most any outfit. I think one of the best features is the easy clasp inside the band that allows you to re-size the band to fit your wrist. The box the watch is stored in is very simplistic and modern, but then again Movado is known for being a simple yet elegant design. This is a midsized watch and would not fit well on someone who has large wrists. Luckily or not I have small wrists that accommodate a watch of this size. This is a great watch for someone who is just starting to collect Swiss made time pieces and for the long time collector. Overall I am happy with the purchase and would recommend.

This is a great watch! The band is rubber making it very durable and fitting in any setting (leisure, working out, professional wear, etc.). The band is also adjustable so it allows those with smaller wrists to have a nice fit. Because the case diameter is not huge, this watch is suited for those with small to medium wrists (unless you have a big wrist and prefer the smaller look). I highly recommend to anyone who wants an all purpose, all environment type of watch. Plus with this being a Movado, it's high quality.

I have owned this watch for over two years. It is stunning, if you like modernist design, and, like Movado's "Museum" watches, combines impressive accuracy (mine hardly ever needs to be adjusted via the official U.S. atomic clock) with great visibility. With only the briefest glance you will know what time it is. As the prior reviewer noted, the rubber strap is easily adjusted and has a satisfyingly unusual clasp. I own numerous watches; this is one of my favorites. I highly recommend it (again, if you like modernist, uncluttered design).
