I bought this book on advice of a third party who is most experienced in the horse industry and I wanted to not be so shy around horses as I have no actual hands on experience. Most helpful common sense book geared to helping one understand and be better at overcoming such concerns. Carolyn

I've seen Dr. Burns on Parelli training DVD's and liked her style. I thought I would read her book and pick up additional pointers. Unfortunately, the volume is pretty slim with lots of repetition, and it was expensive.

"Move closer, stay longer" is the most brilliant book ever written on the subject of dealing with fear / anxiety. This book empowers the reader with really practical skills that can be applied over and over again, whenever you are faced with fear / anxiety in your life. It is written from a perspective that understands what it is like to be scared and really strengthens you to be able to deal with it, it doesn't matter what the fear is associated with. These skills can be developed by the reader either on their own, or incorporated into therapeutic discussion with a professional. Either way, if fear or anxiety are holding you back from what you want in your life, this little book is worth its weight in GOLD! I know it has certainly transformed my life.
