5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Cars!! May 10, 2011
Format:Audio CD
"Move Like This" is the Cars first album since 1987, and while it's been much too long since their last release, it was worth the wait! Aside from bassist Benjamin Orr, who passed away in 2000, all of the original members are back and they sound like they haven't missed a beat. The album's first track, "Blue Tip," is vintage Cars with Atari-era keyboards, a super catchy chorus laced with perky beats, and Ric Ocasek's trademark vocals. "Too Late" is a little more downbeat, a synth-driven tune with an electro pop foundation. Elliott Easton's guitar makes its presence known on "Keep On Knocking" and he turns in a very hip psychedelic solo. "Soon" is a ballad in the tradition of Drive, the hit that Orr sang back in 1984. "Sad Song" features a clever palm-muted guitar and on-the-upbeat handclaps. "Hits Me" and "Free" are a total recall of the new wave/pop sound the CARS had in the 1980's and captures their precise swagger perfectly. "Keep On Rocking" is more vintage Cars and has an incredible groove. While the band isn't breaking any new musical ground with their latest release, this is a finely produced album that fans of their earlier work will love, and is highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Climb aboard this DeLorean time machine... May 10, 2011
Format:Audio CD
Goose bumps all over as I take a magical ride back in time to my youth. There is no substitute for the original Cars. This album is "new-vintage", and aged to perfection! A musical treat for the ears and a warm memory morsel for the heart. Do you ever wish you could do it all over again?! Well, this album lets us all "Take Another Look"! Thanks for the fond trip back to the future! A MUST addition for your Cars collection.

05/19/2011 Update: "Move Like This" debuts at NUMBER 2 on the Billboard Rock Album Charts! Congratulations to the band and thanks to all the loyal fans that made this release a success! This century wants more Cars music! This century NEEDS more Cars music!

5.0 out of 5 stars Head out on the highway...looking for The Cars! May 10, 2011
Format:Audio CD
Just want to put my two cents worth in and tell the public that The Cars new album is really worth the cost! I bought mine at Best Buy today at $9.99 plus tax and it also included three bonus demo songs called One By One, Hits Me and Rocket USA. Also included are two music videos and they are Sad Song and Blue Tip. There is also a plastic Commemorative Pass telling the dates they play for the 2011 year and their web site! So all in all, a pretty good deal! The songs are a continuation of Heartbeat City and a little of The Cars first album thrown in for good measure! Thanks for your reading time...I'm not steering you wrong! (Get it!)...lol

There is nothing "wrong" with this album; it's just that it is not noteworthy. I'm a baby boomer who loved the early Cars work, so I wanted to hear this "absent from the scene"... Read more
