Book Description

Lilli Accardo moves to the dying town of Signal Bend, Missouri, where the citizens have made a devil’s bargain to stay afloat. Lilli quickly garners the attention of the whole town, particularly Isaac Lunden, President of the Night Horde Motorcycle Club and de facto protector of the town and its citizens. When it turns out that Lilli is there under murky circumstances, Isaac decides to get close and try to figure out what she’s hiding. Their chemistry is instantaneous and electric, but each is a potential danger to the other. Action, sex, and drama ensue as Isaac and Lilli try to navigate the rocky terrain between trust and threat. 3.0 out of 5 stars Good debut and solid effort by this author December 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a very enjoyable MC book. Some violence and blood, some drug use, some illegal activities, etc., just enough grit to feel real to the culture but not too much to make me uncomfortable reading it. Sometimes the pacing felt a little off to me, but most of the time, the story moved well and kept me going with it. And both h and H are likeable and kept me interested.

I liked Isaac, with his tats, the beard, and the long hair. I felt this author had a handle on this hero's biker look and attitude. He was tough but also kind of sweet. As for the heroine, she was really pretty tough, emotionally and physically. I think the emotional part kept me from totally connecting to her, but I did like her. Lilli is definitely kick-azz; not one for histrionics or hand-wringing, this one. I liked that she could throw a punch and take care of business, although I would have liked seeing more of her softer side. She does open up to Isaac, but I needed a little more of that. Even on the last page of the book, I was left wanting more from Lilli.

I have to compliment the author on some well-written sex scenes. Good and hot, most of them were rough sex, and that was a pleasant surprise to me. I wouldn't call it hard-core/mean, not the H hitting the h or anything like that, but it is rough sex. Rough and ready, hard and deep. These two like very physical sex, and I thought it was a real turn-on to read. Some good sexing going on, and some good dirty talk, too. Isaac has a very good vibe to him, edgy but sweet and needy, and his dirty talk reflected that. This hero is good with the dirty and the sweet words. He said some really romantic things to Lilli: "I want to put my ring on you. I want to put my ink on you. I want to make a baby with you." The author did a fine job on this hero.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read! November 10, 2013

I don't do reviews too often, but this is one I just had to give a little love to.

I love motorclub erotic romance. Unfortunately some of the MC books can be a bit too much for my liking. I don't want to read about women being passed around, and left with a disrespected lump in my stomach disliking what I've just read, and then hoping that the book finds someway to give me my happy ever after. This is NOT one of those books. This is one of the books where bikers are bikers that don't look like they treat women like crap. In this book you know it's there, you just don't have to read it. Yes there's hangers-on girls, but their part is small, and treated tastefully.

The story is just good. The two main characters are great. I loved Lilli and Isaac. She's strong with a no bull outlook on things and isn't waiting for a man to come and sweep her away. She's capable of doing the sweeping herself.. He's a mans man, but also man enough to admit that he needs her and lets her take the lead sometimes. It doesn't take from his position in the story or make him weak, only honest. I really liked him.

And the back drop story is great. Not thick with lots of details, but yet there's enough to make the story work and blend in with the couples story.

And yes, I saw someone saying in one of the reviews that there was too much sex. It's erotic get what you pay for. And yes while there was plenty of the sexy stuff, it wasn't draped with an over use of smut and it was written well, and Isaac is very sexy with Lilli and was more emotionally invested in them at first until Lilli caught up, but again it didn't weaken him.. It just worked!

I would have no issue recommending the book: it's a first time read for me by this author and I'll be hunting down more of her work. And yes, it got 5 stars because I loved it, not just liked it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderfully different kind of MC book...SO good =) December 8, 2013

Holy Sh*t!! This is one of THE best biker romance books I have read in a long time. Why? Because it was simply not dumbed down... no ridiculous immature dialogue or childish behavior...just a really cool story about a badass, tough woman who has a big secret and the small town she comes to live in (complete with it's own resident MC that protects and runs the town).
I loved the relationship between Lilli and her hot biker Isaac. Sure he was the usual tough, rough and caveman type biker...( the bedroom or where ever else they got busy scenes were HOTT) but it was not so stereotypical that it would annoy me. Instead, we were shown a man with a softer more human side and he was an artist in the real sense as well. It was written in such a way that you still get the excitement of his bad boy side forcefully pulling Lilli into a relationship, but it is believable and happens realistically.
The mystery surrounding why she moved to this town is revealed slowly but for once, the heroine is not constantly running away from her problems and when Lilli and Isaac DO butt heads, they work things out like mature people do.
I was so lucky to get this book when it was free (because I have already blown my budget on biker/rocker or I might not have had the pleasure to read it!
Grab it if you is so different from the usual, repetitive storylines that some of these other MC books keep won't regret it!
This book is supposed to have two more sequels to continue on with their tale, but you do get somewhat of an HEA at the end of this.

*****5***** wonderfully different MC stars =)
