By Hazel (Rochester, New York) - See all my reviews

This is my favorite CD in the world. The lyrics combined with the music, the beat goes on and on and on. B-Side players know how to entertain and keep coming back better sounding and better looking, WOW, talented and hot, each and every one of them. Thank you B-Side for exersiving your right to make good music. Movement is a masterpiece, it's an unforgettable piece of music that will make it to the top, trust me on this...........Grammies, here comes B-Side.

They Are Soldiers,
By A Customer

The way I can tell I have just purchased my favorite C.D. is that I can sing every song by heart. This C.D. starts with my favorite song and ends with my favorite song. I don't understand or speak spanish BUT I become bilingual when I hear the music. Soleboat is a beautiful which deserves recognition and air play. The melodies of Latanya Locket's beautiful voice just add to the already perfect beats delivered by Karlos, Victor, Loui, Gio, Ryan, Regan and Jerry on "Movement," what a bitchen song. To tell you the truth this C.D.has been an education for me. It has taught me to love my fellow man, no matter what race, language or religion. It has taught me that I can dance to latino music, it has taught me to be humble and to free my mind. I've given this CD 5 stars because 100 weren't available to give. Spill The Wine was better than when my parents listened to it way back when......sorry just my openion. I would love to find a radio station hip enough to play The B-Side Players, better yet I would love to see them live........hay Karlos, come to Australia.

Groovin',
By A Customer
This review is from: Movement (Audio CD)
I find myself singing along full blast, wishing I was a part of this band. Up until now, I have only seen them live and have been captivated by their groovin' energy on stage. I rate this album with 4 stars only because there is nothing like hearing the songs during a live show. I am ready the next time they come around, can't wait to hear their new and remixed material onstage. I love Soul Boat, very smooth, very liberating. Spill the Wine-I'll take that pearl! Great lyrics with a soulfull voice and supporting rythyms make this one a well rounded CD.

This band should be selling out crowds. Their blend of rock, funk, and latin styles is a refreshing sound. If you can catch them live, they are one the most exciting bands that know how to turn out a stone groove. Horns, flamenco solos, tight rhythm sections, they represent the best in Afro-world music.

Better than Mike Clark,
By A Customer
This review is from: Movement (Audio CD)
Just received a pre-release copy of "Movement" and it is hot. In a world bombarded with genre-crossing crews, B-side has something similar to nothing but their own invention. The latin funk and soul grooves are strong, though the hip-hop infusion is the spice that makes it just right. I saw B-side open for Mike Clark's Prescription Renewal with Charlie Hunter, and everyone I talked to felt the same way: B-side stole the show from Mike Clark.<

The album is great. Some much more refined songs from the Renacimiento album and fun spanish lyrics for "Spill the Wine". They keep getting better...

Movement makes you move!,

I might be a little biased because I've been a fan of the B-Side Players for for a few years now. I've seen them perform live dozens of times, and literally felt the powerful vibes they give off. They just MAKE the crowd boogie! This group, AND this album are simply AWESOME, and their musicianship is off the hook! They combine Funk, Rock, Latin, Reggae, Hip-Hop, Pop, and THEIR SPIRIT like no other band I've heard, and make the "music" their own! The remake of WAR's "Spill the Wine" is the BOMB! Older tracks like "Souldier", "Puro Feeling", and "Baila" are reworked/updated and TOTALLY FRESH! New tracks like "Soulboat" definately show the B-Sides range, and should garner them radio play and attention from a wider audience that they rightly deserve. One of my favorite tracks on the new CD is their title song "Movement". Great musical flow, kinda like a smooth Bob Marley flavor with a nice soothing reggae beat. The lead singer, Karlos Paez just rocks it! Buy this one! |
