5.0 out of 5 stars Pay no attention to the haters, this is a classic
Inspectah Deck might be the most overlooked member of the Wu and this album was overlooked when it dropped. The simple, undeniable fact is that "Movement" was one of the better releases of 2003. Every song on it is knocking and the rebel INS brings his usual superior lyrical ability to the table, to show heads that the Wu is back! Cop this album, immediately!

I've been a long time fan of Wu-Tang since the first time I heard them and they captured my mind and heart with Liquid Swords. Since then I've bought nearly every solo cd and the work of wu-affiliates like Killah Priest, Cappadonna, and Killarmy. 4.0 out of 5 stars the movement, June 22, 2003

The Movement is an impressive sophomore follow up to Uncontrolled Substance. I'm feeling the call and response hooks and the obvious Wu-Tang influence in the beats. Deck held it down on this one without the support of RZA production or guest appearances from any of the more popular Wu-Tang members. HIs new label obviously gave him the autonomy and freedom that many other rappers on larger labels dont have.

5.0 out of 5 stars An underrated classic, don't listen to the haters, February 24, 2005

I'm trying to figure out why the masses are hating on this album. I can't call it; I can only assume that they have been so blinded by the mass of commercial garbage coming out these days (see The Game, Em, 50, etc) that they cannot understand that "The Movement" is one of the best albums of all time. Inspectah Deck drops mad wisdom on this, every song is knocking! Cop this album!

5.0 out of 5 stars Move, November 22, 2004

"The Movement," by Inspectah Deck, despite numerous negative reviews is an excellent album. At first listen it is not great, which the other reviewers obviously listened to for; once. The more you listen to the Rebel the more you get into it, and realize that he is one of the illest MC's ever to clutch a mic. There are some songs with mediocre hooks, but INS's lyrics are absolute insanity. I've never heard Deck spit a wack verese on any song he ever touched. "Big City" and "That Ni***" are incredible songs, along with many others. Deck is the Truth. SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

5.0 out of 5 stars Whats with some bad reviews?, July 24, 2006

This is not THE best Wu Tang CD ever, but it is still great. Inspectah Deck has among the best lyrics in the group, so you get what you want on this CD. Get this one as soon as you can, because it is worth it for the true Wu fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice CD, June 16, 2003

It's sure is nice listening to some fresh Wu-tang...It seems like forever that something new from a Wu-tang member has come out but finally it's here. The new Deck album is nice. Not great but nice. Personally, me being a huge Wu-tang fan have found the Rebel INS to be less intriguing compared to some of the other members of the group (Ghostface Killah, RZA, GZA) but Deck has suprisingly made a good hip-hop album at a very stale time in the world of hip-hop. Go buy this album and support non-commercial hip-hop...Peace....And by the way, when the hell is RZA going to release his solo album. Enough of the Bobby Digital. We want the grimey RZA.

1.0 out of 5 stars Deck fell in a bucket of wack juice, March 19, 2004

I've been a long time fan of Wu-Tang since the first time I heard them and they captured my mind and heart with Liquid Swords. Since then I've bought nearly every solo cd and the work of wu-affiliates like Killah Priest, Cappadonna, and Killarmy. Inspectah Deck was always been a favorite of mine and I thought Uncontrolled Substance was an incredibly good, and very underrated cd. It quickly became a wu classic for me and hinted at an incredibly promising solo career.

With that said, let me be clear about this. The Movement is the worst cd I've bought in the last 5 years. The beats are laughably bad and most surprisingly, SO ARE DECK'S LYRICS. He went from 110% on my list to nearly unrecoverably wack with this CD.

The Deck of old makes no appearance here. Half the cd is him waxing poetic about how he's so non-pop and hardcore and down with the streets like he has something to prove and the other half is him rapping about jewelery, rims, and how good he thinks he is. He comes off sounding like a complete amateur.

I sat, painfully, trying to endure listening through this whole CD. All I could think of over and over again was that this was indeed a "movement", I just wish Deck woulda had the decency to flush afterward. The pathetic hook "WHO'S GOT IT, HUH, HUH?" perhaps alludes to someone stealing his toilet paper :(

There are endless cringe-worthy lines, messages, and hooks on this album. There are less than a handful of exceptions. City High and Get Right are both pretty good...because both are in the style of Uncontrolled Substance, except you can see some snuck in Movement wackness on Get Right's hook.

A found a video for a single from this online and he was wearing a jumpsuit with SPINNING RIMS AND BOOTY DANCERS IN THE BACK and everything was in FISH EYE.

If there ever was a hip hop betrayal to one's self, career, and fan-base this is it. I wasted my money on this cd. Don't make the same mistake. If you want some good stuff by Deck, find the two tracks that didn't make it on UC: "Nightshift" and "the Settlement". Nightshift especially is a great, great song and would have been a star track on UC if the samples had cleared.

I hope INS comes back one day with something masterful, as he is capable of, but this isn't it.

Great sophomore effort from the Rebel. Gotta get this, as well as his new CD coming out, which will be great too.

Since 93 the debut of the super rap group the wu-tang clan. The rebel INS came back with a new album, after the uncontrolable subtance gone gold without out comercial support and poor advertizement from his ol record lable, this artist knows how to hold his own. This album his a wu banga with his street smart rhymes sharin the knowledge to those in the streets. Whever never hear about inspectah deck ask the wu bangas what he's all about. He's a well respected lyricist check out some of these songs that he was feature in and his first album (tres leches by big pun, cloud above by gang star, etc....)
