I am a big fan of Cronenberg's version of "The Fly", so was very happy when it was announced that the Fly was going to be in the next line of Movie Maniacs.

As always, the detail is excellent. I especially love the hairs that stick out all over his body! Nice touch there. Unlike other McFarlane figures, this one has quite a bit of maneuverability(articulation is in head, both shoulders, elbows, wrists, and hips).

You couldn't really have had any accessories for this figure- the only thing that I can think of, is part of the pod, which would have been quite nice- so the base is a cool addition.

They just keep getting better and better

I pretty much have all of the Movie Maniac figures to date, but none of them have given me as much trouble as the Fly has. True enough, he comes with a board and holes in his feet to peg him onto it, though this isn't done without some difficulty. This toy cannot and will not stand by itself. It's not uncommon for a McFarlane figure to take a nosedive from my shelf every now and then, but this one is the exception as it does so frequently. Despite all this, it's still grotesque and neat to look at and is also a very important addition to my collection.

If you read my review for Kong you know I am a collector.I loved the Fly (both versoins.)This toy is very feelable all the fly hair is life like.The only bad things are no telepod prop and those hairs are fragile.BUY IT but dont play rough if playing at all.

Well, I was sort of looking forward to this figure until I actually saw it for myself. The sculpt is great, with every fleshy wrinkle of the Fly's distorted body is replicated admirably. The folds of skin are accentuated by a black wash to really bring out the detail. There are even small black hairs poking out of the Fly's body in several places--his chin, leg, and back all have the tiny feelers. He also comes with a display stand (I got mine to stand without it, incedentally), and compared to other Movie Maniacs, the Fly is articulated like crazy--left shoulder, left elbow, right shoulder, right wrist, and both legs move.

Despite all the good work put into the figure, I wasn't overly impressed. It seemed a little too big in relation to the other figures of the line, and had some sort of weird green plastic "goo" attached to its side.

Of course, just because I don't like the figure doesn't mean that it's bad--I can recognize that a lot of work was put into this, and that for some people this might be a dream come true. My advice, however, is to take a good long look and judge for yourself...

Parents be warned; if you buy BrundleFly for your kids, know that one day, you have to show them the movie. Its detailed as the fly monster from the end of The FLy when Jeff Goldblum finishes mutating and plans to be human. Its cool but it just hits you at times in a way that would make you sick.
