5.0 out of 5 stars Great Music, June 30, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Movie Music (Audio CD)
Woody Allen is not only a great filmmaker, but he obviously has some great taste in music. This is one of my favorite jazz CDs in a fairly good-sized collection of jazz music, simply because it has a great variety, with classic jazz standards as well as obscure, beautiful little gems. Thanks, Woody, my pal!

The variety of music on this cd makes it worth the purchase alone, the cd case also tells you which movie the song was featured in. A very fun cd for any Woody Allen fan. I had been originally looking for some of his ragtime band music (the one that he still tours with) when I stumbled upon this beauty. Enjoy! A great purchase!

4.0 out of 5 stars Glad I found it., December 27, 2008

If you enjoyed Hanna and Her Sisters, you probably loved much of the musical soundtrack from the film. Many of my favorite songs from the film are included on this disc, as well as many others from other films of Woody's. Really enjoyable if this is your type music. I only wish it included a few more songs from the film I was hoping for.

i love woody - seeing 'midnight in paris' only heightened my desire for more. since that soundtrack is yet (and i understand may never be) released, i wanted to listen to his unique choice of soundtrack music. this compilation is wonderful...you just imagine all his characters and their interesting personas...you drift away to a big band sound and it allows you to be in his movies - even if you're just fixing a meat loaf!

5.0 out of 5 stars PLAY IT AGAIN, WOODY, July 21, 2011
This review is from: Movie Music (Audio CD)
This compilation should appeal on two levels; first to jazz lovers who find the selection to their liking, and secondly to film buffs who associate the tunes with Woody Allen's films. Here's a handy guide as to how the tracks relate:
1. Play it Again, Sam
2. Interiors
3,4,5. Stardust Memories
6,7. Hannah and Her Sisters
8-19. Radio Days
20,21. Manhattan Murder Mystery
22,23. Bullets Over Broadway
24,25. Celebrity
26. Manhattan
Speaking personally, the most evocative track for me is Harry James' "I've Heard that Song Before", but whichever one you select it's a winner.

4.0 out of 5 stars "IT'S NOT HERE!!!', January 21, 2009
This review is from: Movie Music (Audio CD)
THE ORCHESTRA THAT PLAYS,"SEPTEMBER SONG" IS NOT HERE! THEY HAVE
PUT IN HARRY JAMES' VERSION
ON THE CD. THIS IS BOGUS. THE MUSIC (26 TRACKS) ARE FROM 1927 TO 1949. IT'S GREAT OLD TIME
CLASSIC AMERICAN MUSIC FROM SOME OF HIS MOVIES. I WOULD HAVE GIVEN
THIS CD 5 STARS, BUT, THE ORCHESTRA THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR, IS
NOT HERE ... I SHOULD SAY, THE MYSTERY ORCHESTRA. JOE BUSHKIN PLAYS IN THE LOWER REGISTER
OF THE PIANO. BUT,"SEPTEMBER SONG" FROM;"THE JOE BUSHKIN STORY" CD IS NOT THE VERSION FROM THIS MOVIE.
P.S. The search go's on . . . By the way,VIVA' UPPER-CASE LETTERS ! ! !
