Back in Time,
By Betty Burks "Betty Burks" (Knoxville, TN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Movie Photobook (Space Chimps) (Paperback)
This movie is supposedly funny, as the monkeys make it appear so. However, it brings back the actual happening when the U.S.S.R. did in fact use chimps as a sacrifice in the Cold War. They wanted to be first in space and the animals died in re-entry. We knew about the first one, but the vast amount of others killed in this experience was kept secret until just recently.
Monkeys are not necessarily funny, though when I was young, we enjoyed watching them at the zoo as they made faces at us and seemed to be enjoying making monkeys out of the human audience. Alan Wolf really believes that they are our ancestors, as the early man looked a lot like them. Mark loves them (at the zoo) I wanted him to go to the movie with me so I could hear him laugh, but he is too busy and would rather see the real thing at the Zoo. And he gets his movies on Comcast. The movie is a comedy so perhaps they used the playful chimps instead of the cerebral to get an audience. |
