I am producing a 35mm feature film (it's shot, we are editing), and found these forms very helpful - if you are new to producing, they prevent wheel-reinvention.

With over 40 years experience producing and teaching film production I have found that "Movie Production & Budget Forms" provides the finest set of forms available in the industry. While most of this work is now done by computer programs which provide inherent similar forms, none are better. In fact, I've customized my computer program to utilize most of these forms. In my experience, Pre-Production is the most critical part of successful film production. In my film production classes, I require my students to learn to break down a script in the "old way" by hand first before getting near a computer program. Utilizing Ralph Singleton's companion "Film Scheduling/Film Budgeting Workbook: Do-it-Yourself Guide", and "Film Budgeting,Or How Much Will It Cost To Shoot Your Movie" as well as "The Hollywood Guide To Film Budgeting" by Danford Chamness, those aspiring film makers learn to appreciate the intricacy of the process and how critical it is to be meticulous in this process. The forms in this book are ideal for this process because of their simplicity and thoroughness. Then, when learning computer breakdown, the discipline acquired,and respect for detail carry over in inputting data into the computer. If you are a first-time film maker making a student film or producing an epic program like the Emmy-winning epic "War & Remembrance" as the author has done, these forms can be the difference between the success or failure of your project. The only downside is that this volume is so difficult to find.
