Editorial Reviews

From the Author

In selecting quotes for this book, my goal was to include quotes that can be used in whole or part in every day conversations. For the hard-core movie quote buff who may look upon my categorizations with only professional curiosity, the movie quotes are later grouped by the movie they were spoken in. I hope you enjoy this collection; in the words of Willy Wonka, "If you have any problems, dial information, thank you for calling."

About the Author

The details of my life are quite inconsequential (Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery). I was born a poor black child (The Jerk). I'm too young to be old, and I'm too old to be young (Fried Green Tomatoes) and I have had plenty of 'Joe' jobs, nothing I would consider a career or anything (Wayne's World). I'm incapable of small talk (Jerry Maguire), I've always wanted to fight a desperate battle against incredible odds (The Last Starfighter), and maybe I'm a Chinese jet pilot (Army of Darkness). One time, at band camp (American Pie), I knew a kid, he had the biggest tongue in the world (Blue Velvet). This information cannot leave this room. Ok? It would devastate my reputation as a dude. (Sixteen Candles)

This is a hilarious book that provides great quotes for every situation. Think about how many times (e.g. at parties) you have wanted to deliver that perfect quote from Major League or Star Wars! I also enjoy just browsing through it and reminiscing about great movies.

This book has a place of honor on my coffee table. If you're like me and have friends who can hold an entire conversation using nothing but movie quotes, you've found the perfect book to brush up on your skills. Very funny and oddly useful.

Even though there are some duplicate entries, this book is a fantastic read! You will spend the whole time reading lines from different movies and saying "I remember that, that was hilarious!". It is not the traditional quote book, but it was a pretty fun read. I would suggest taking a look at the "Search Inside" function and make sure that it is what you are looking for, but if you are looking for a database of movie quotes, I think this is the best one out there. Enjoy!

1 of 3 people found the following review helpful By Reverend Corter on May 13, 2009
Format: Paperback
This book is terrible! First off, it's twice as big as it should be, as the second half of the book is comprised of the same quotes of the first half, just in a different order! The format of the entire book is terrible, most of the quotes aren't even worth quoting, and you'll be lost reading some of the quotes refers to situations within movies without telling you what it refers to. Do not buy!
