The movies may address the PARENTAL level where our convictions, beliefs, and traditions are located. The complimentary films for this parameter would be related to mores, education, history, religion, ethics, rights vs. wrongs, and SHOULDs-HAVE TOs-MUSTs. Novelty, creativity and innovations either may be rebuffed or accepted, depending upon polarizations of our negative and positive parental selves.

Our ADULT level would be watching for a qualified direction, acting, production, screen playing, photography, editing and all other promotions. Anything related to reason, logic, problem solving, workable vs. unworkable platforms, would be thought provoking pearls for the watcher.

The films with musical scores, songs, soundtracks, special effects, fantasies, good vs. bad themes, comedies & dramas would tickle our feeling and emotions placed on our CHILD level of functioning on the conscious level. The imagineries and subliminal messages may also intentionally as well as inadvertently affect our unconscious. the compartment of our mind about which we are not consciously aware.

The group participants watch the commercial movie clip. They PROJECT their beliefs, thoughts and feelings on the actors & actresses portraying the characters. They IDENTIFY WITH or DISAVOW them. Then comes the processing and problem solving, WORKING THROUGH on those characters' behalf. Once the results of problem solving suggestions are crystallized, the group INTROJECTS the whole process back to their own reality. The group moderator may ask the participants about their impression of what ahs been going on in the clip, what they would have been doing had they been in the shoes of those characters, alternative actions and all other thought stimulating questions. The participants' response and ideal discussion expected to take place among them reflect each individual's insight into their own difficulties for which they have been attending the sessions. Therefore, that VCR or the DVD turns out to be "a co-therapist/educator!" The best asset of such an approach is being educated and/or treated while entertained!
