One of my students recreated Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart" using The Movies software. The video lasted just over seven minutes, but when all of us finished watching, we were nearly at the edge of our seats since its graphics were so life-like. My student had spent several hours dubbing his voice as the narrator and setting up the actions of the characters, but he said that the program pretty much did the rest. I was so enthralled by what he had done that I received his permission to upload it to Youtube. Here is the link if you are interested in exploring further: [...].

Inspired by The Movies software program, I ordered a copy for myself from Amazon. Here's the unfortunate problem: it doesn't work on any of my computers! I have a brand new laptop, a used computer, and a school laptop, so I thought it would work on one of them. I should have done my research on the amount of memory I needed to run the software. The only other possibility is that it is not compatible with my computer since it is made in the U.K.

If you are a whiz with computers and are looking for a program that electrifies the younger student population, then I would definitely recommend The Movies. Unfortunately, I have not had any fun with it because I cannot get it to work on my computer. I'll have to leave it to the younger generation to help me figure out a solution!
