I first encountered The Movies at the Apple Developer conference a few years ago. I just sat down at the computer to look at it for a minute and next thing I knew it was several hours later and I had missed most of the sessions I had wanted to go to. It was then I decided that I probably needed to buy the game.

My favorite types of games are sim and tycoon games and this one has elements from both categories. Even after hours of playing I didn't even know about the movie making aspect of the game. When I did discover it, I played with it a bit and found it rather fun and pretty easy to use, but still not what interested me in the game. The tycoon aspect isn't very difficult, but it isn't super easy and you can't slack off if you want to rise to the top of the movie making business. The sim aspect is also not too difficult, but adds some fun variability to the tycoon side. If your actors like their co-stars, they will do a better job. You also have take good care of your actors by giving them their own trailers and gardens. The happier they are, the better they act.

All in all, I feel like this game had just the right amount of difficulty and I like that it eventually ends. I like gaming, but don't have tons of time for it, so I like games I can finish in one day. And I really like games that I finish and then want to play again! I have beat this game at least three times and still want to go back and play more!

I had this game before and found it fun. To bad for me one time i lent the discs to my twin who carlessly let them fall into the heater at our house. When i found the disc it was broken but i am going to buy this game again because it is so much fun and been saving up for it. The premis is fun and the effect are cool to you can make any star and cast any roll. it is difficult to train the stunt people but rewarding and to be able to unlock this is fun over time.

I ordered this game on June 9. Now it's July 12, and Amazon still has not shipped it. What angers me more is that they keep changing their "Ships within..." timeframe. When I ordered it, it was 1-2 months, but my delivery estimate doesn't expire until the 28th of this month. However, as I type this review, it says it'll ship within 1-4 weeks, most likely meaning 4. Maybe Amazon should consider actually stocking products before they try to sell them, or at least notify the consumer of the inventory status before they order. I have absolutely no idea when this is going to come, as I don't expect it anytime before the 28th - long after, in fact.

The game is excellent. I played it on PC before I switched over to Mac, and it's a great tool to practice filmmaking, which is what I'm doing in college. There are some great masterpieces out there that have been created with this game, and with HD exporting, this will be amazing to work in Final Cut Pro and After Effects with. I look forward to playing the Mac version...if it ever arrives...

ok so ive been waiting a long time for this game to arrive and amazon has not yet shipped it and its been over a month but i cant wait until it gets here it wiil be great to study on for my carer ...
