Different and Unique,
By A Customer
This review is from: Movin' On (Audio CD)
"Movin' On with Paul Ansells' Number Nine" encompasses the "Rockin', Smokin' Country Blues" sound that No. 9 are famous for, but pushes the musically boundaries even further. Alongside the self-penned tunes, they shamelessly rework classic material - which any sane musician would be afraid to tamper with- and give it the full No. 9 treatment. Their own originals will soon become classics in their own right, from slow, soulful ballads featuring Paul's unique vocal delivery; beautiful harmonies with new talent Imelda on two tracks; up tempo honky tonk and driving country rock with thumping bass from Mick Wigfall and oh-so perfect clear guitar from Malcom Chapman with Brian Nevill on drums, No 9's musical pedigree is complete" - Jerry Chatabox, Dec. '99 (from Hepcatrecords.com)

WoW!!! It's like the 50's all over again... if you like the western swing style rockabilly of Big Sandy, you may also enjoy Ansell's Number Nine cd, it sounds like music that would have been recorded in the Sun studios 50 years ago. The music is very diverse, it rocks, it swings, it bops! Good retro 50's style cd!!!
