Les Taylor is a popular speaker, author and recognized authority in the field of individual and organizational performance improvement. His new book, "Moving from Activity to Achievement (Keys for transforming your life and your business).

As the former Assistant Chief of Police in Tempe, Arizona, Les managed a highly respected agency using a leadership style characterized by a strong sense of purpose and professionalism. Les fine-tuned his skills in leadership, management and supervision during his career in law enforcement in a department that quadrupled in size between 1971 and 1993. Les and his executive management team were responsible for 270 police officers, 220 civilian employees and managed an annual budget of $20 million.

Today, Les owns Achievement Solutions, LLC (http:www.achievement-solutions.com) a consulting and coaching practice working with "C" level executives interested in improving their personal or professional performance. He also helps organizations develop their leadership and management personnel.

I like this book in that it was a quick read, and though short at 120 pages, packed a powerful punch. The author clearly walks you through practical steps that you can take to accomplish more in less time. And the end of each chapter are some easy exercises so that you can actually put the steps to work immediately. I struggle with being busy all the time, but at the end of the day realize that I haven't actually gotten anything DONE! This book will help you get over that so that you can see some real results. Great read for small business owners and managers.
