3.0 out of 5 stars Apostolic and Charismatic
I am constantly exploring how five-fold gifting mentioned in Ephesians works in today's church. I believe that the key to supernatural churches is a return to early church practice and thinking in a modern context. I ordered this book as part of a package of books on the subject. It was pretty much what I expected; a work filled with Charismatic terms and thought (ie--...

4.0 out of 5 stars A wholesale subject on the apostolic !, June 6, 2000
This review is from: Moving in the Apostolic: God's Plan to Lead His Church to the Final Victory (Paperback)
If you think you have come to a dead end or a crossroad , read this book. It will open new roads andd lead you to a greater purpose in life.

The church is not returning to her former glory but to a much greater glory when the apostolic ministry is fully restored and accepted worldwide. Eckhardt traces back the root of our heritage which must be put into immediate practice if we desire church growth in all dimension. It is clear the author is taking great effort in recalling us to a truth hidden under the collection of historical dust. In essence, Eckhardt is telling us that the conquest of our spiritual treasure is a mandate originated from the apostolic commission which the Lord has set forth.

Because this book touches on the apostolic, it also addresses the function of apostles. However, the overall contents do not just moor to the ministry of apostle. It is about the apostolic spirit swelling to great heights, and bringing new thrust to the church today.

Your heart will thump as you realize the apostolic spirit is still very much alive. It has a nature that is pioneering, generational and relational. Much of what Eckhardt mentioned here reveals the raw power of the apostolic. Quite simply, the apostolic spirit has arithmetic effects. It can cancels complacency, adds confidence, subtract fears, and divide the false from the truth.

To sum up, this book is packed with full-orb definitions and salient points. Leaders need to hear this author out if they are serious in fulfilling the final commissioning.

I have read all of the fine books from the current apostolic movement and this is by far the most balanced and biblical of the books. The pastoral approach taken by the author gives us the most practical material yet from this ever growing movement in the church today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Destroyed Foundations, January 7, 2000
This review is from: Moving in the Apostolic: God's Plan to Lead His Church to the Final Victory (Paperback)
Moving In The Apostolic is an excellent contribution to the doctrinal teachings regarding what a true apostle and "apostolic church" really is.Apostle Eckhardt excells inusing his apostolic, prophetic, and teaching gifts to edify the Body of Christ concerning the restoration of Christ's Apostolic Headship over HisChurch.Moving In the Apostolic answers the psalmist question, "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?", I am sure, from the content and the context of this book, John Eckhardt'sanswer is begin to move in the apostolic and re-lay those "destroyed foundations!"If you have had any doubts about the present day ministry of apostles then Moving In The Apostolic will assist you in dissolving some if not all of those doubts!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cutting through the clutter, September 10, 2005

This review is from: Moving in the Apostolic: God's Plan to Lead His Church to the Final Victory (Paperback)
This is a no nonsense book that clarifies a lot of hard questions on a often misunderstood and much maligned topic. Eckhardt speaks from experience and a deep understanding of the subject. In an environment where it seems the majority of voices on apostleship seek little more than self agrandizment and promotion this man's wisdom is a welcome relief.

Everyone in todays church should have at least a basic understanding of the true office of apostle and this book is a fine place to start. Enough of people who claim apostleship but lack the visible qualifications of the office. We all need to be concerned and informed on such an important subject as we near the end of the Church age. The apostolic anointing that defined the opening of the age will no-doubt be what defines the end of the age.

We must learn to discern the true from the false in this matter and hold to that which is true. The heritage of the true apostolic must and will be restored. Having a good understanding of this restoration while it is happening will save us all a lot of trouble, confusion and contention.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitions of a true apostle from a true apostle., July 27, 2006

This review is from: Moving in the Apostolic: God's Plan to Lead His Church to the Final Victory (Paperback)
Having never heard any of Apostle Eckhardt's sermons or read any of his books, I didn't know what to expect when I found this book during a search. Being that the price was very reasonable I figured it would be worth a try. All I can say is, "WOW!" I couldn't put this book down!! Apostle Eckhardt gives great definitions of what a true apostle is and uses Scripture to prove it. His straightforward and simple teaching style bring great truths to light. As I have felt the call of God on my life, this book helped me define what the Spirit of God has been doing in me and through me. "The truth shall set you free" and the 'present' truth explained here shall make you more free than you can ever imagine. I recommend this book to ALL leaders in Christian ministry and anyone else that has a passion to serve the Lord Jesus.

In order to know where you're going you have to know where you've been. This book paints a clear picture of the origin of the apostle. Knowing it's origin, we can clearly see what an apostle really should be. Excellent book on apostolic ministry.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enlightening, April 1, 2007
This review is from: Moving in the Apostolic: God's Plan to Lead His Church to the Final Victory (Paperback)
Apostle Eckhardt shares some awesome revelation concerning the apostolic gift. This book brings clarity to the confusion surrounding the gift of apostle. It answer the much asked question, "is it for today?" with and affirmative yes backing it up with scripture in its proper context. After reading this book if a person continues to be ignorant about this gift, it is their own choosing because the apostle shares it line upon line.
