This album is a collaboration between Chris Potter and BradMehldau, two of the most talented "young" jazz players onthe scene today. This alone should be enough reason for you to buy this album, but in case you're still not convinced, read on.. Chris Potter, with his unpretentious and witty playing, is a truly fresh departure from the Coltrane clones in the scene today. He's the most underrated sax player on the scene today; unlike Mehldau who's widely popular with the younger audience after his big break with his excellent trio. Potter's versatility is met with Mehldau's limitless imagination and dexterity. The second song, Book of Kells, stretches your imagination with Potter and Mehldau's virtuosity and makes you wonder what they ate for breakfast. Whatever it is, I'll take two orders of it, thank you very much. Potter is a very talented bandleader, although at every occasion there are always a few songs that I can't truly appreciate. Unfortunately, he doesn't have his own band at the time being, but fortunately, he's playing with the venerable Dave Holland Quintet, where he's sure to get more exposure. OK, now that you've heard enough, it's time to go get the CD!
