Amy is the main character in the story. Her family is moving way. She doesn't want to leave her house, her garden and he friends. She is sad when she first moves to her new home. Soon she starts to like to her new home. She meets new friends and she and her dad plan a new flower garden.

The book has characters that young children could relate to. If kids ever had to move they would be able to understand Amy's feelings.
I would recommend this to families who might be moving soon. They can read this book and discuss the way their child feels about the move.

I bought this for my daughter when we were getting ready to move. It was very helpful since it brought up some items that I would not have thought about discussing otherwise (i.e. furniture not in place on arrival, etc.) We have been in our new home for well over a year now and my daughter still pulls out this book to be read at least once a month.

This book helped my 7 year old get over the fear of making new friends once we move.

Good book for 5+ year olds. Really emphasizes the "getting all your stuff on the other end" idea. Difficult for us because our stuff is in storage while we move internationally.

A little girl in my daughters pre-school class was moving and I bought this book for her and I read it to my daughter before the move. This is a real sweet book and had my daughter asking questions about her friends move. this helped start a converstation on the subject which was very helpful for my little girl. She realized moving is ok and her friend will make other friends at her new home, but she will still think of her friends here. Very sweet book, I'm glad I bought it!

My 3 year old daughter loves all Heather Maisner books...I bought this one to help her learn about moving since we will be moving soon. The story and illustrations are cute - the author does a good job with putting topics (moving, doctor visit, etc.) on a child's level and the illustrator has colorful and fun illustrations.
