Moving Forward God's Way is the second in a series of books on making progress as a Christian. The first book in the series is Starting Over God's Way and focuses on the author's spiritual recovery from his third divorce in just a few years. That book is a powerful Christian testimony of how God can be the foundation of our lives.

Moving Forward God's Way deals with building faith and regaining an orientation towards God from a fragile beginning. The book seems to have been inspired by Jesus? teaching as reported in the Book of Matthew about how when the farmer sows seeds some of them sprout but later wither. As a newly devoted Christian, you need to be sure that your sprout continues to develop.

Moving Forward God's Way integrates all of the teachings of the New Testament into one simple book that can be read quite quickly . . . and pondered for a lifetime. That's a valuable contribution because many people have trouble integrating the various Biblical lessons. In regular sermons, many ministers will focus on just one parable, one verse or just one recent event . . . and then connect that to God. In the process, our relationship with God can seem like a fragmented prism of contradictions. This book helps smooth away misunderstandings that could harm spiritual development.

This book is much better written than the first book in the series. The main weakness of the book is that it has little of the powerful Christian testimony in it that makes the first book so compelling. But if you read both of them, you can simply remember the testimony as you read this one.

As I finished the book, I realized that I should pray to God to ask Him to help me grow my faith. I had never thought of that way of praying before and intend to follow that worthwhile advice.
