Wow ! At last this great album is finally available on CD ! I had it originally on vinyl when still at school in the UK and my friend Peter Bellis had (the previous)'Jazz/Blues Fusion'.
Throughout, the sound is lush and clearly recorded/mixed, it rolls along with one great solo after another. Each musician is top drawer, making the whole thing sound effortless. At the time (1972), guitar rock seemed to dominate the scene, so this helped me to reach out towards jazz a little more.
So thanks for a great album John, which I recommend you all to listen to.

A brilliant album, made all the more special because it was recorded live in concert. Superb performances from an outstanding line-up of truly talented musicians. I cannot recommend this album highly enough - any fan of jazz fusion should have this in their collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars John Mayall Moving On, August 25, 2009
This review is from: Moving On (Audio CD)
I said Jazz Blues Fusion is "unbelievable" and I may like this album even more. They are both great and really blew my mind. If you like jazz and John Mayall this album is a must have. It is my understanding the Moving On album is a follow up to the famous Jazz Blues Fusion record. I am a harmonica player and musician and was blown away by Moving On. The music is amazing, interesting to listen to, and both rocks and then rolls making sense in a way that is pleasurable to listen to while at the same time cutting edge and experimental. The mix of blues, jazz, and rock n' roll and probably a couple other genres sound great. John Mayall seems to surround himself with amazing musicians and put out another groundbreaking album with Moving On. This is an awesome synthesis of musicianship and the mixing of American music genres.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite, November 23, 2011

This is my favorite John Mayall album. The song 'Red Sky' is one of my favorite blues songs from any artist. All the songs, though, are as fresh and enjoyable as ever. It's hard to believe that the music was recorded nearly 40 years ago! Sadly, Mayall remains under-rated despite all the music he has made and all the great musicians he has nurtured.
