I feel privileged and surprised that I am the first person to review this album. I have been waiting 15-20 years for someone to make this album. I really don't know where to begin... my title captures the best description I can come up with for this album. I would consider this the best keyboard album of 2014... I can't see it being surpassed... maybe the best keyboard album of the past 10, maybe 20 years. Their synthesizer work is simply phenomenal. Everything else is as well; and, even though I am drummer, I am a true sucker for excellent keyboard (especially synthesizer) work.

The songwriting is excellent; the lyrics are excellent; the performance is excellent. As I watched them on CBS This Morning Saturday (my first exposure to this group), I was struct by the DEPTH of talent on hand in this one group. Several multi-instrumentalists. Actually, I was shocked by the depth of the bench here. Unusual.

There is so much going on (reminds me somewhat of Pink Floyd in this regard), that the songs will reward repeat listenings, i.e,, "How did I not notice that texture, or sound before."

I anticipate a bright future for these folks. I am not sure if there is a radio hit here (who can ever be sure about such things); possibly "Like I Need You." They have a very unique sound; that will take some folks a little time to wrap their head around. That shouldn't pose a major problem, though, since one can (I do) see huge grassroots support forming for these folks...

Thank you Kan Wakan for this album.

Probably the best debut album [ cd ] to come out since the 60's. Kan Wakans' music is pure feeling. Take a journey to the outskirts of infinity listening to the wonderful sound paintings created here. The composing, lyrics, playing, & singing are absolutely first rate. I can hardly wait for their 2nd offering. This group picks up where Jimi Hendrix left off musically! I love Classical & Rock but Kan Wakan has taken both plus more and melded them into something that adds soooo much more. Music is magical, especially if it takes you somewhere you have never been. This album goes to the farthest reaches and does not stop there. Midnight Moon 1&2 are the highlight of the ride for me [ except it is about 20 min too short ]. The true definition of art is something that can not be duplicated. When something comes from the soul it can be felt and this music delivers that feeling in a big way. Kan Wakan also plays flawlessly on every live performance I have seen which shows that every member of the group is a competent musician in their own right. Give their music a try, it will not disappoint ! ! ! !

A real gem.

The first few seconds of the opening track 'Forever Found' sound like a cheesy orchestral throwback to '50s style TV show themes. Luckily, I hung on for a bit to hear it through as it developed into an atmospheric, groovy, soulful opener to an album that will be on my playlist for a good while. The title track 'Moving On' is also a good example.

This is one for the lazy summer afternoons or for ease of mind when tired or stressed. Keyboard, vocals are standouts and bring to mind bands like Mazzy Star, Film School, Dum Dum Girls etc.

The music industry is a strange animal and it's hard to tell by a band's quality of music whether they will succeed or not; so I hope we hear more from this one in the future.

Bautista's vocal stylizations are reminiscent Ella Fitzgerald or Billie Holliday while the band is progressive like The Moody Blues, the best of jazz and orchestral rock. The least track is 3 stars while Moving On, Like I Need You, Space Owl (Cut the Rope), Are We Saying Goodbye, and Why Don't You Save Me (which could be the soundtrack for my upcoming novel if it gets made into a movie) are 5 stars.
