Great Album, September 16, 2006
This review is from: Moving Units (Dig) (Audio CD)
One Dead Three Wounded's album Moving Units is very, very good. Having heard Paint The Town, their last album, Moving Units features better production, better songwriting, and better musicianship. This album paints a picture of playing tiny clubs and driving long hours in cold weather, almost a journal of this band's struggles on the road, and in the industry. Musically, it features typical metalcore fare, with metal-hardened breakdowns and riffs. However, they use the music to complement the songwriting, not the other way around. It delivers rumbling aggression, with earnest feeling. Vocally, the lead singer goes with a higher pitched scream/shout, which doesn't bother me. It complements the music very well, balancing out the low-end power. Overall, a great album that conveys the journey of a band struggling to make it very well, with all the frustration and emotional turmoil that comes with it.
If you like any metal/hardcore at all, I definitely suggest you pick up this album. It hasn't gotten a lot of press, but it's definitely worth your $10.

the riff, July 21, 2006

I've been a fan of these guys for years and have learned whether it be a live show or recorded material, they never dissapoint. From start to finish Moving Units is a nonstop reminder that you can still be excited about new music. Few bands display such passion, energy, and song writting ability while still remaining heavier than a cement mixer. Blending southern groove, melodic death metal, and energetic hardcore into a savory mix that goes down smooth, but leaves you with some broken limbs and blackened eyes.

Still good, January 5, 2007
This review is from: Moving Units (Dig) (Audio CD)
This album like the first is amazing. Within in minutes of turning it on i relized that it may even be better than the first. It takes every thing from the first and expands upon it. This album is also much more in depth, and a lot heavier. You can hear this just from the first few seconds of track one. If you liked the first one this one won't let you down. A must have.
