5.0 out of 5 stars OVERLOOKED!
The best of the latter day J5 records, this is blazing from beginning to end. The title track should have been huge, I love this string section in this song. Classic Motown, and the play on words, comparing a traffic violation to a discretion in a relationship is also pure Motown, comparable to "Stop! In the Name of Love". "You Were Made Especially For Me" and "Honey...

3.0 out of 5 stars Final Motown Effort
Moving Violation incorporates alot of strings into the dance mix and it produces a bigger sound. Their remake of The Supremes' "Forever Came Today" is an over the top opus. The title track is a funky number while the closing two songs "Call Of The Wild" and "Time Explosion" are explosive. 5.0 out of 5 stars OVERLOOKED!, July 9, 2010

"You Were Made Especially For Me" and "Honey Love" follow the title track and keeps the party going. The only single to be released from this excellent album was the cover of the Supremes "Forever Came Today". If you listen to the J5's version next to the Supremes version you'll notice that the arrangement goes beyond just a typical disco-fied version of the original. "Body Language" kicks off side two (yes I still think of this as an LP rather than a CD), not one of my faves, but still pretty good. THe only ballad on here comes next "All I Do Is Think Of You". Not much to say about this, it's pretty. That's about it. The next three songs (Breezy, Call of the Wild and Time Explosion) end this album on a high note. I prefer this one to anything from their time spent on Epic records. Where the songs on "Victory" for instance sound dated, the songs here still sound fresh. Is it just me?

The Jackson 5 were running out steam at Motown by the time this came out. However, there are some nice cuts on this album. "Body Language", "Forever Came Today" are just a couple.

4.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely overlooked!, February 22, 2011
This review is from: Moving Violation (Rstr) (Audio CD)
This is a really good album that no one seems to have bought. It's really a shame because you can see that by this time they were growing up mucially and in general. "Forever Came Today" is just a great song with wonderful orchestration. "Moving Violation & Body Language" were also released I believe, but I thought all the other songs were better than those two."(You Were Made) Especially for Me" is one of my favorites, and "Honey Love" used to always make me dance. "Breezy" is sweet and catchy, Jermaine sings lead but I even liked the last two songs. I think everyone should give it a listen. It's very very good. There is really no filler here!

3.0 out of 5 stars A surprise, January 27, 2011

I have to admit that I blew it on this album when it first came out years ago. If I had bought it when I first started to, I would have known that the Jackson Five were the original singers of the song "All I do is Think of You." Everyone knows it from TROOP, but the Jackson Five kicked this song long before TROOP was even thought of. TROOP did a great job with the song and I feel they actually sound better. This was an album by Holland and Dozier, but it really had only one hit on it and that was "My Forever Came Today". This is vintage Jackson Five right before they left Motown and Jermaine left the group. The voices and the harmony is what all the groups today need to study because the "new singers" really cannot sing. If it wasn't for Neyo and R. Kelly, there would be no singers left. Pop in this CD and float back to the old school. For those who are younger, they may rate this CD higher, but being someone that was around when it first came out, I can say that it really didn't get much push from Motown and maybe it was because the J5 was leaving. For me, it just didn't hit. This album came out at a time when FUNK was the mood and this album just wasn't funky, but it was the J5. Go to YouTube and watch them on Soul Train performing All I Do Is Think Of You. Those J5 boys were some talented brothers.
