TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT,
By
This review is from: Moxy II (Audio CD)
This is the second valiant effort from Canada's Moxy. Unlike their first release this disc contains much more straight forward rock without the nice ballads. My favorite Moxy song ever is here, "Take It or leave It", which was also released as a single. It, like Moxy, didn't fair well commercially. That success is important for a band to make it, but for those fortunate enough to see a band and get their music, it is hard to understand that lack of success. It is unfortunate, but most stations have program directors that wouldn't know good music if it came with a warning label stating it was!Moxy released some great music in their short lifespan and it is good to see it out on CD. If you have never heard Moxy try them. They have great guitar work, screeching vocals, and an excellent sound that has survived the 70's. Some other great tunes on the disc include "Through the Storm", "Wet Suit", and "Change in My Life". Don't let the opportunity to grab a cult classic pass you by; show the world you've got Moxy!

I can't even remember how I came across this band, but I am very glad I did. This has been my favorite of their albums for a long time, too. It's just a great, straightout rock album. 'Cause There's Another is a solid song with a really great... but short... guitar jam in the middle of the tune; Through the Storm has a very good hard rock riff and is a favorite of mine; the instrumental Slippin' Out reminds me of a Tommy Bolin jam like Marching Powder (check out his album Teaser); and Midnight Flight and Wetsuit both stand out as good rock songs also--but every song on here is quite good! This was the first album of their I got and it's a good place to start with if you're new to Moxy. A good band that more people should know about!

Good 1970's style Rock-N-Roll/Hard Rock,
By A Customer
This review is from: Moxy II (Audio CD)
This band hails from Canada and their whereabouts are now unknown. I heard their material for the first time over the radio in 1975. The band was very talented in that they performed ballads, hard rock, and disco/hard rock mixes.
