'Mozart Lieder', a complete collection on two CDs on this minor label is a big surprise only because the pieces are actually LIEDER! I was halfway expecting to find this a packaging of arias and other solos from Mozart's operas, but they are not. All the works are in German and all sound remarkably like the better known Lieder written by Schubert and Schumann, although, dare I say it, as Lieder go, Schubert was better than Mozart in this medium.

Thus, if you are working on a complete collection of Mozart's recorded works, I would leave this until last, as this certainly was not Mozart's main interest.
