The Mozart flute and harp concerto was not what it could have been. Although the harp is impressive, the flute, which frequently carries the melody and is largely responsible for the emotional expression, is sometimes lost when it should have been foregrounded. The tenderness of the melody is unclear in the slow movement whenever it cadences, a real loss.
