For Kids, not Mozart afficionandos,
By A Customer
I am a music teacher and a parent of two young children, so I have particular interest in this recording. First, I would like to strongly support the well written liner notes which explain the strong effect that Mozart's music has on the young mind. It has been proven in numerous studies that music, particular that of Mozart, stimulates brain activity in unique ways. As for the recordings on this CD, I too was taken aback at first by the arrangements and instrumentation of this CD. After a while though, I found myself almost compelled to listen to the music. The melody is clearly separated from the harmony by the strange instrumentation, and I found my own brain activated by listening to this music. Far from Mozart 'Lite,' I believe this CD surpasses authentic recordings in its ability to stimulate the mind. Most importantly, my children love this CD and listen to it over and over. There are many fine recordings to choose from for an adult who wishes to enjoy the music of Mozart. When it comes to thought provoking, stimulating music for children and adults-"The Mozart Effect" delivers as promised.

It's a Teacher Pleaser, too!,
By A Customer
For years, I have used Classical Music in my middle school science classroom as background. If the music is not playing, my students ask if they may start it again! They ask for the Motzart Effect more than any other of the classical selections I play. Especially at times of testing and written evaluation, they most often request "Relax, Daydream, and Draw". I do think it is important that we listen to the voice and choice of our young people when evaluating musical presentation created especially for their age groups! Now I am purchasing this set for my 2 month old grand-daughter so that she, too, may enjoy it.

Interested classical grandmama,
By A Customer
Having read all of the attached information prior to purchasing, and, previously, other articles on classical music and brain stimulation, I bought the Mozart "newborn" as more of an experiment than anything else. As the adult, too, was not really excited about the performance styles. BUT, when my granddaughter's mother told me how much she (1 month-4 month baby) actually responded to hearing the CD being played, I'd say the style of performance is not meant to be enjoyed by classically trained adults, but rather the age group for whom it's intended! We highly recommend this series!
